DR. KAMLESH LULLA honored by the Government of India with Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Medal and award
Houston’s own Indian American NASA Chief Scientist Dr. Kamlesh Lulla- receiving the 2015 Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Award from India’s Vice President Mr Hamid Ansari and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Ministry for Overseas Indian Affairs Mrs Sushma Swaraj in the presence of Gujarat chief minister Smt. NASA Johnson Space Center’s Scientist Dr Kamlesh Lulla has received the Government of India’s highest honor and most prestigious and high profile award for the overseas Indians. Dr Lulla was awarded for his outstanding life time achievements in space science and technology and for enhancing the prestige of India in the world. India Vice President Mr Hamid Ansari lauded Dr Lulla’s accomplishments in space science and technology.
This award is called the Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Award and a Medal conferred by the President of India during an event inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India. This year the Paravasi divas was celebrated in Gandhinagar, Gujarat in India from January 7-9, 2014. The award presentation occurred on January 9th, 2015.
Other recipients from US have included Microsoft chief Satya Nadella. Dr Lulla and Mr Nadella were recognized for science and technology achievements.
